Rex 3D

Description

A full 3D reimagining of the classic browser dinosaur game — the one you know from Google Chrome's "no internet" screen. What used to be a simple 2D endless runner is now a complete 3D game built from scratch in Godot 4.

What you'll find in the game:

• Full 3D movement — control the dino freely in every direction, not just left-to-right jumping.
• Enemies that actually chase you — instead of just running past obstacles, enemies actively pursue you across the map.
• A weapon system — fight back with a katana, including a charged critical attack that can pierce through multiple enemies at once.
• A hitbox/attackbox health system — every hit matters, with a cooldown system to keep combat fair.
• Wave-based survival — enemies spawn in escalating waves, growing tougher and more numerous as you progress.
• An upgrade system — earn points from each wave and spend them on upgrades like damage, health, speed, reload speed, and more.
• A boss fight — survive long enough, and you'll face what's waiting at the end.
• Two different endings — how you play changes how the story wraps up.

This project started as a joke about how bored I was without internet, and turned into a full solo development journey — rebuilding systems from scratch more than once along the way. If you want to see the full story behind how it was made, check out the devlog video on my channel, Zyden.
